You keep 100% of every dollar.

Markup writes every invoice to the Ontario Construction Act standard, which starts the legal 28-day clock from the day your customer receives it. Your customer pays you directly the way they always have: e-Transfer, cheque, card, cash. The moment you mark the invoice paid in Markup, we send them a thank-you and a Google-review request automatically.

Yes. Cancel from your account settings, no phone calls, no retention scripts. Annual plans are pro-rated to the end of the term.

Type your scope notes and the assistant suggests line items based on your trade and labour rates, applies your markup floors, and produces a draft. You review every line, adjust as needed, and approve before anything reaches your customer. Markup is not liable for pricing errors. Always confirm with a site visit.

Plus tracks every subcontractor payment against the CRA threshold (more than $500 in the reporting period) and produces a T5018 worksheet as a PDF and CSV, with each subcontractor's total. You or your accountant then file the return with CRA, for example through CRA's Web Forms. Markup does not file it for you.

On Plus you can invite your accountant or bookkeeper to a read-only view of your invoices, expenses, subcontractor payments, and GST/HST totals, and they can export any of it as CSV. Every plan can also export invoices, payments, and clients as CSV. A direct QuickBooks connection is on the roadmap.

Coming soon. The web app is already fully mobile-responsive, so you can run quotes, send invoices, and chase payments from a job site today on your phone. Native iOS and Android apps are next. The scope is intentionally narrow and field-first: photo capture for jobs, hours, expense receipts, tap-to-call customers, and a push notification when an invoice gets paid. You will be notified the moment they are ready.

Your data is stored in Canada and the United States on servers operated by our service providers, including Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting). When data is transferred outside Canada, it is protected by contractual clauses consistent with PIPEDA. Our privacy policy lists every provider.

Markup handles your personal information under PIPEDA. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, where it is stored, who our service providers are, and how to export or delete your data.

You, and anyone you give access to, such as your accountant. We never sell your data. The service providers that run parts of Markup (hosting, email, payments, and the optional AI quote assistant) process it only on our instructions. Our privacy policy lists each one and exactly what the AI assistant receives.
